With vacancy rates low across Australia, it is very much a landlord's market when we look at rents across Sydney.
Rents have increased significantly across Sydney over the last year, with the Eastern Suburbs, Central Coast, and Upper North Shore leading the way.
Suburbs such as Vaucluse have seen rents increase by 51.5% to $2500 per week over the last year, while in the Central Coast, suburbs such as Erina have seen rents increase by 38.9% over that period to $660 per week.
Although we are currently seeing a downtown in property prices throughout Australia, with interest rates trending upwards, it's important for property investors to see the big picture - the other side of this situation is that more people are looking to rent, and there is limited supply of rental properties.
